Students should be creating a Keynote of top 7 movies or TV shows you have watched this year. No copy and paste allowed and each slide should have a complete sentence and picture. There should be also a introduction slide and concluding slide.

Each Student in film class is going to create a short one minute film on a topic of choosing. You may work with a partner or solo.

Each film needs a storyboard (created solo) and needs to be approved by Mr. Moore

Films should be edited in iMovie

Sound, video and audio should be of the best quality.

This week we are going to design and create a short film using Chroma Key Technology.

Step Three: Create a storyboard (By yourself) that uses Chroma Key Technology.

Step Four: Work with a partner to create a single Chroma Key Film.

Objective: To finish current films and create Three - 16 Frame slide shows in Keynote (each Keynote should have a introduction and concluding slide with your name on it):

Topic one: 14 Best Special Effects Slide Show - Give at least one sentence that explains why this film made a great impact on special effects. Please no copy and paste.


Topic two:  14 Best Epic/Historical Films - Give at least one sentence that explains why this film is considered a "great" Epic or Historical Film! (Please no copy and paste.)

Objective: Students will learn how to create storyboards, scripts and animatics. They will also learn how to use iMovie software and by doing so learn how to create short films.


This week: You are going to design/create either script or storyboard for your next film project. This is a project of choice and it will be due next week - Thursday Feb. 11, 2016. Make sure you can shoot and create this project within the two week time period! All ideas created will be done solo. When you finish film partners will be choosen. All Ideas need to be approved my Mr. Moore.

Week 21, January 25, 2016

Objective: Students will learn how to create storyboards, scripts and animatics. They will also learn how to use iMovie software and by doing so learn how to create short films.


This week: If you have not started a film yet you need to create a storyboard for another film you want to shoot or the script you just created. Due Wednesday for both the film and/or Storyboard.

Objective: Students will learn how to create storyboards and animatics. They will also learn how to use iMovie software and by doing so learn how to create short musical themes for our films.

#1 Finish Commercial Project!

#2 PROJECT - Tuesday - FRIDAY - The one minute project. EVERYONE shoots and creates a one minute film on any topic that is school appropriate! Take 20 minutes and quickly create a storyboard on Monday and shoot and edit the film this week.

Collect film from your partner or partners to be used on the final for this class next week.

Monday - Friday - NEW!

If Mr. Moore is gone any of the days this week - Your job is to create a 12 slide Keynote. That list and describe the ten science fiction films of all time. You should have at least one complete sentence explaining each film on each slide. The slide show should have a Introduction Slide and a Concluding Slide.



The teacher will show students how to use advanced features in iMovie, sound and special effects.

Assignment: Create a 2 to 3 commercials (Timing either 1 - 30 - Second Commercial and 1 - One minute commercial or 3 - 30 second commercials).  The commerials can be about something real or imagined. Use all the resources in iMovie to make your commercial look professional. A quality script/or storyboard must be approved before production begins. THIS can be funny.  Time each commercial needs to be exactly either 30 seconds or 1 minute. EXACTLY!

Monday - Thursday - Create storyboards for our next project and start work on ---- > See below:

The teacher will show students how to use advanced features in iMovie, sound and special effects.

Assignment: Create a 2 to 3 minute film project with a topic of mystery.  A film about a mysterious subject such as UFO's, ghosts, mind reading, time travel.... Use all the resources in iMovie to make your film look professional. A quality script/or storyboard must be approved before production begins. THIS IS NOT A HORROR FILM.


Monday - Thursday - Start Shooting films for our next project.

Week 9 - October 12, 2015

Objective: Students will learn how to create storyboards and animatics. They will also learn how to use iMovie software and by doing so learn how to create short musical themes for our films.

Monday - Tuesday -Wednesday - Shoot Musical Themed film. Finish KEYNOTE from last week while Mr. Moore was gone. Grade remaining storyboards.  Turn in Keynote assignments via email.


Thursday - Friday - Finish Shooting films and turn in final "Music and Sound" Projects onto the flash drive.

Assignment for if not finished last week:

Create a 10 Slide Keynote of most famous musicals or music videos.

Assignment for THURSDAY - FRIDAY:

Week 7 - September 28, 2015

Objective: Students will learn how to create storyboards and animatics. They will also learn how to use Garage Band software and by doing so learn how to create short musical themes for our films.

Monday - Tuesday - Finish Garageband projects (two).

Learn how to export songs to iTunes and put on flash drive for collection.

Grading Rubric:

10 points - Use of filters and effects

Wednesday - Collect and Listen to Garageband Songs!

Thursday - Watch some short film clips that are good examples of student/professional film making using music as a theme.

Friday - Begin with a partner (or solo) creating storyboards for a MUSIC themed short film 2 minutes long- No longer than 2.5 minutes. No voices in film. You must use music and sound effects!



Week 5 - September 14, 2015

Objective: All students will have a working computer and software properly installed. Students will learn how to create storyboards and animatics. They will learn how to use iMovie software and by doing so learn how to create short films.

Monday - Finish and present storyboards.

Tuesday  - Finish and present storyboards.

Wednesday - Friday - work on one minute film. The film must have good color, easy to hear sound, transitions and good edits and most importantly it must tell a story!
